Performance:
The Outback and Forester are cut from the same cloth and both come standard with Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a 182 horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder BOXER engine under the hood. The few performance differences between the two SUVs are;
- The Forester can tow up to 1,500 lbs. while the Outback can tow up to 2,700 lbs.
- The Outback is available with a 2.4L turbo BOXER engine with 260 horsepower and the ability to tow up to 3,500 lbs.
- The Outback comes standard with X-Mode with Hill Descent Control. The Forester features X-Mode on the Premium trim level and up.
Safety:
Once again the Subaru Forester and the Outback share many of the same features and Branford will find no shortage of safety features. There is just two minor differences.
- The Subaru Forester comes standard with Subaru's Rear Seat Reminder to prevent children and pets from being left in the Forester.
- The Outback comes standard with High Beam Assist which is available on most Forester trim levels.
Features:

- The Outback exclusively features standard roof rails with integrated crossbars. The Forester has roof rails on the Premium and up models.
