Loves The Earth 2023 | Dan Perkins Subaru

In an effort to keep waste from filling local landfills, the team here at Dan Perkins Subaru celebrates Subaru Loves the Earth by offering our customers, employees and community members new ways to positively impact the environment - by bringing hard-to-recycle waste here to Dan Perkins Subaru. This type of waste is typically tossed in the trash, but we are going to work with TerraCycle to give these items new life in the form of park and playground equipment!

TerraCycle® has partnered with Subaru to create a free recycling program for waste that's tricky to dispose of without causing harm to the environment. This program takes place at limited locations, and Dan Perkins Subaru is proud to be one of those locations. We invite you to bring any of the items below with you during your next sales or service visit!

Through the TerraCycle boxes throughout our dealership, we will be collecting the following items:

Any brand of disposable cups, lids, and straws
Any brand of candy and snack wrappers
Any brand of coffee or creamer capsules

PLEASE do not throw these items away! We will be more than happy to collect them. Once the waste is collected, we will ship everything back to the team at TerraCycle. From there, they will break everything down and separate it all by material. Plastics get cleaned and pelletized, paper-based waste and organic waste are composted, and any metals get melted down. These materials are turned into useful, high-quality recycled products that benefit others, including park benches, playground materials, and picnic tables.

During the month of April, we also incorporated Subaru Loves the Earth into our service department for the second year in a row! If your vehicle required new flexible vehicle plastics or a new cabin air filter, we recycled your old ones the same way we recycle all of the items listed above. So, thank you to all who came to Dan Perkins Subaru for service in April, and know that the waste that was once thrown out will now be used to assemble highly useful products that will benefit others.
